WHAT IS MAHMYA ISLAND?

Mahmya is a private beach located on Big Giftun Island, Hurghada, Red Sea.

WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE PROGRAMS?

DAY USE PROGRAM, INCLUDES:

  • Boat transfer to/ from the island (1 hour sail each way)
  • Beach use
  • Towel
  • Tax and fees

PRICE: 30 EURO per adult, 15 EURO per child 3-12 years, children 2 years & under are for free

DAY USE PROGRAM PLUS OPEN BUFFET LUNCH, INCLUDES:

  • Day Use Program
  • Lunch buffet style (soft drinks & water only during mealtime)
  • Tax and fees

PRICE: 50 EURO per adult, 25 EURO per child 3-12 years, children 2 years & under are for free (prices are applicable for all nationalities)

FULL PROGRAM, INCLUDES:

  • Day Use plus open buffet lunch
  • Snorkeling trip by boat to Sabina reef including mask, fins & snorkel
  • Tax and fees

PRICE: 75 EURO per adult, 37.5 EURO per child 3-12 years, children 2 years & under are free (prices are applicable for all nationalities)

DOES THE BOAT MAKE SNORKELING STOPS?

Our Boats Sail directly to Mahmya Island (1 hour). However, when you book the full program, the snorkeling trip is scheduled during the day to take you to Sabina reef where you snorkel 45 minutes in the water.

CAN I BOOK THE SNORKELING TRIP WITHOUT LUNCH BUFFET?

Yes, you can book the Day Use Program and book the snorkeling trip upon arrival to Mahmya island (25 EURO)

CAN I UPGRADE MY BOOKED PROGRAM UPON ARRIVAL TO MAHMYA ISLAND TO UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE MY CHOSEN PROGRAM?

You can Upgrade your program on the Island, however, if you downgrade it will be non-refundable.

ARE THE DAY USE PLUS LUNCH OR THE FULL PROGRAM ALL-INCLUSIVE?

No, all drinks/food ordered from the bar/a la carte menu, are excluded and paid for by cash/credit card accordingly

WHERE IS THE DEPARTURE MARINA LOCATION?

WHEN DOES THE BOATS DEPART AND RETURN?

DAY SCHEDULE departs at 9:00 a.m. & returns to Mahmya Beach Marina at 4:30 p.m. 

SUNSET SCHEDULE departs at 10:00 a.m. & returns to Mahmya Beach Marina at sunset

WHAT TIME SHOULD I BE AT MAHMYA BEACH MARINA?

Minimum 30 mins prior your boat departure time

CAN I CUSTOMIZE MY DEPARTURE AND RETURN TIMES OR DO I HAVE TO STICK WITH THE AVAILABLE SCHEDULES?

You need to stick to the booked schedule, however, you can book a private boat or zodiac to customize your preferred schedule, https://www.mahmya.com/transportation/

WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF THE PRIVATE MAHMYA BOAT AND/OR TRANSPORTER (SPEED BOAT)??

Private boat: 600 EUR for max 10 pax (over 10 pax will pay the day use rate (30EUR per adult, 15 EURO per child 3-12 years, children 2 years & under are for free))

Transporter (Zodiac): 1400 EGP per person (minimum 3 pax – maximum 6 pax)

WHAT ARE THE BOAT FACILITIES?

Toilets, medic first aid supplies, trained crews in medic first aid, VHF Radio, adult and children’s life jackets & necessary rescue equipment.

DO YOU SERVE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ON BOARD?

No, but you can order food and beverage from Mahmya Beach Marina before departure.

IS IT SAFE FOR INFANTS TO GET ON THE BOAT?

Yes, but of course they need to be supervised at all times.

IS IT SAFE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN TO GET ON BOARD?

Kindly consult  your doctor who should make the decision according to the medical case.

DO YOU PROVIDE ANTI SEASICKNESS PILLS?

We do not provide any medication as it should be prescribed by a physician.

ARE WE GOING TO BE AMONGST OTHER GUESTS ON THE BOAT?

Yes, there will be other guests on the boat, unless you have booked a private boat.

WHAT ARE YOUR BOATS' CAPACITY?

Boats differ in capacity between 32-36 pax.

HOW MUCH IS THE BEACH USE IF WE COME TO MAHMYA WITH OUR OWN BOAT?

Day use will cost 500 EGP per adult, 250 EGP per child (3-12 years) and any infants under 3 years are free.

HOW CAN WE BOOK IF WE ARE COMING TO MAHMYA WITH OUR OWN BOAT?

IS THE ISLAND KIDS FRIENDLY?

Yes! We have activities on Mahmya Island which are fun for all ages. Please refer to the activities page on our website

DO WE GET SHADED SEATING AREA?

Yes, there is a shaded seating area assigned for each booking.

CAN WE CHOOSE OUR PREFERRED SEATING AREA?

While booking, leave as a note, to reserve your preferred table if available.

IS MAHMYA ISLAND A SOFT SAND BEACH?

Yes, Mahmya Island is a soft white sandy beach.

ARE THERE SNORKELING SPOTS ON MAHMYA ISLAND?

Yes, you can enjoy amazing corals and marine life on the beach.

DO YOU PROVIDE FREE TOWELS?

Yes, every booked program includes a Mahmya towel for each guest.

ARE THERE TOILETS, SHOWERS & CHANGING ROOMS ON THE ISLAND?

Only toilets! No showers or changing rooms are currently available on the island. 

IS THERE MUSIC ON THE BEACH?

Yes, there is music on the beach.

CAN I BRING ALONG MY OWN FOOD & BEVERAGE?

It is not allowed to bring any food & beverage to Mahmya Island.

HOW MUCH IS THE CORKAGE FEE?

Corkage fee is 500 EGP per bottle.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

No, pets are not allowed.

IS THE LUNCH BUFFET ON MAHMYA ISLAND OR ON THE BOAT?

The buffet is on the island.

WHAT ITEMS ARE SERVED IN THE LUNCH BUFFET?

  • Salad Bar: 6 kinds of salad
  • Sides: Steamed Vegetables, Rice (2 recipes), Pasta (2 recipes) & French Fries
  • Main Course: Fish (2 recipes), Chicken(2 recipes), Beef (2 recipes)
  • Dessert: Five kinds of seasonal fruits
  • Open water and soft drinks during lunch (all other drinks are excluded and paid for by cash/credit card accordingly)

Yes, but no hard liquor.

If you are a group of 50+, kindly contact us to check if we have period promotions. Please refer to the contact us page on our website

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR GROUPS TO BOOK SEPARATELY?

Yes, it is. However, please put a reference name in the notes, so our team can seat you together.

DO YOU MAKE SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR GROUPS?

DO I PAY FOR THE NANNY?

Should you be bringing a Nanny/Babysitter with you, kindly note that as per our company policy they are obliged to take our Day Use Program plus Open Buffet Lunch.

DO YOU PROVIDE LAND TRANSPORTATION FROM/TO HOTEL?

No, we only provide the boat transfer to/from the Island.

HOW CAN I BOOK A TRIP TO MAHMYA?

Until one day prior your requested date, depending on availability.

Try to change your requested date, schedule and/or program.

CAN I CHANGE THE SCHEDULE AND/OR PROGRAM THAT I ALREADY BOOKED ONLINE?

HOW CAN I ADD MORE PEOPLE TO MY BOOKING?

You need to make a new booking (upon availability) and add a reference name in the notes for us to know you are all together.

DO I HAVE TO PAY TO CONFIRM MY BOOKING?

Yes, only paid bookings are confirmed.

I AM TRYING TO BOOK, BUT THE PAYMENT IS NOT GOING THROUGH?
